NOT a hipster

Here's my man.

He shaves with a straight razor, wears a wool car coat with his slim-tailored suit, carries a vintage-inspired leather satchel, wears a fedora and now...

Skinny jeans.

But, don't go calling him a hipster. He prefers "gentleman of style". These are hipsters:

So, for Christmas, he really wanted some ankle-height, lace-up, slim-cut leather boots. I found some pretty rad ones at Urban Outfitters. He opened the package with anticipation. And then, his eyes fell a bit. His smile weakened. They were black instead of brown and pretty normal-looking.

So, he ended up returning them yesterday. His reason? They weren't ironic enough.

Gotta love him.

Disclaimer: He actually was joking about the "ironic" part.

  1. He looks pretty hipster to me! My husband is the opposite of hipster: hoodie, old school ball cap, baggyish Levis. :-)

  2. My husband could and would never try to pull off that look. He's a "plain jeans and a polo shirt WITHOUT the logo or pockets" kind of guy. and it took me years to get him to that look, before he was a "this is the free t-shirt from the school I was working at" kind of guy.

  5. Ha! Like your blog. My house didn't fare well...it is back to normal as of today. It was a disaster! But the memories and fun are worth the mess!
