Yes, I do shower: Mom Exhibit

I do get dressed, you know...occasionally. I'm not aaaalways in my pajamas. Most days I do throw on jeans and a tee. It's just that the last two weeks, I've been sick. And you know that means pajamas, for sure. Thank goodness I'm on the mend. As for my husband and kids?

My man has been home sick for the past few days. When he's here, the strangest thing happens. I do stuff. Maybe it's that I subconsciously don't want him seeing me on the computer all day in my pajamas. Maybe it's just that his presence motivates me.

Whatever it is, I like it. I wish he could work from home.

Thanks to him, I caught up on dishes. I know, miracle, right? I actually have a 1/2 empty sink with an empty dishwasher. Please don't let this make you feel bad. It's a rare thing and it won't last beyond today. Oh, and I'm not including the pots and pans that have to be hand washed. Those are still waiting.

His presence makes me feel like a better person. And even though we don't say much while he's working, I don't feel so lonely, which is nice. Maybe that's why I'm more productive and why I do more fun stuff with the kids.

Speaking of, the girl and I made salt dough ornaments. We made hand impressions for both kids and various other ornaments. Painting and Mod Podging were just as fun. My girl said, "Mommy, this is my favorite thing in the whole wide world. I love crafting with you." One of those rare payback moments.

See the little bird ornament at the bottom of the pic? It's painted paper. I made a whole flock back when we were college students and couldn't afford even a gallon of milk. I'm not exaggerating. Those were seriously such sweet, simple times.

Anyway, just wanted to share with you another normal type of day around here (a very nice one, I might add). Wish my husband could work from home FOR-EV-ERRR! It's not for everyone. But, it IS for me.

  1. I love days when you shower and are productive! And I've always loved your homemade ornaments, they look so much nicer than any you could get at the store.

  2. Love the pictures. I am totally opposite. I have a hard time when Dan works from home. I tend to sit around and not be productive. Not sure why?!
