Saw this posted on Facebook today. My opinion? Not funny. Actually, it's highly offensive to me. Why? Because this is real! It's actually a huge issue in so many marriages, even mine. But, for some reason, women feel that if they joke about it and can laugh together, than they're actually not doing anything wrong.
What's your take on it?
I don't find that funny at all. If your (not pointing fingers at you or anyone else, just didn't know a better way to word it.) intimate relationship with your spouse is not meeting either person's needs it needs to be worked on and discussed as a couple, maybe with a counselor but not with the general public. I have heard there is a great book called "We are not Ashamed" (I believe it is a church book)that every couple should read together that will help any relationship not matter how good be even better. I look forward to reading it myself. My friend told me how much it has improved her marriage...and I always thought her marriage was pretty great, at least from what I could see.
ReplyDelete@Katherine I totally agree, Katherine! It is a private subject that should be addressed with your spouse and a therapist. I actually own that book and have read most of it. It's FANTASTIC! I'm glad that there is such a great resource for couples in the church because it's such a taboo subject that every couple should address. For others, the title is "And They Were Not Ashamed" written by Laura M. Brotherson. Thanks, Katherine!
ReplyDeleteMeagan says...I agree that it's nothing to laugh about. Intimacy is such an important part of a relationship, and I honestly think some women think it's fine for them to toy with their husband by "withholding" sex for whatever their reasons may be. I totally agree with Becky and Katherine...it's something that HAS to be discussed or it could totally ruin a marriage.
